EDIT: Aha, I looked at my phone and they look insanely bright... Curse you laptop.
In a previous piece I mentioned I had gone through a few versions of Uru before settling on a final design (and ahaha... I still haven't... I could swap back or make Ahadi, Mohatu's son by the end. It all depends on how I feel when I revise the later parts of the comic). So here are a few of the different designs I have gone through or created on the side for fun. On a random side note, chances are these colors are a million times brighter than they appear to me. Whenever I look at my work on my phone or on my desktop... everything is insanely bright. Q_Q
Final Uru (?)
This version was drawn out a while back, but the colors are very recent. Her colors are a few shades darker than Mufasa's colors, which is a good balance between both her sons. I love these colors, but they are still susceptible to changing again.
Almost Final Uru
These were her colors until recently. I really like them... and I miiiiight still revert back to them. I made her this color under the impression that Ahadi/his brother would provide the gold enough to get Mufasa to his color... of course, I completely forgot about Mohatu's father... who's mother was from the Egoli pride, and thus, Mufasa would get his bright pelt from him. Even so... I still did make Mufasa's father a paler gold.
First Uru
This was my first design of Uru that was actually drawn out and colored. She had her own character sheet and everything. She was very clean cut and looked near identical to her father. Before I started paying attention to the little details, the early versions of all my characters failed to have a nose gradation (not all do, but... still). I started to incorporate them in later... so many of the adults will have some form of one, but cubs don't.
First Uru (idea only)
This version was the one that popped into my head but the colors never made it to the character sheet. I wanted her to basically look just like Mohatu with her mother's eye color, only a tad lighter. Before she ever made it to the screen... I had decided to get her colors more along the lines of Scar's before I decided Scar could get his pelt color from Mohatu. This version.... dark brown with green eyes... is very common among the fandom. Although I really like it... I changed it up. The inner ear comes from Komahtu.
Pale Uru/Sister of Uru
This particular version of Uru is a pale version, taking more after her mother. In one of my summaries of Mohatu's time as ruler in the Pridelands, he has 3 cubs total... Uru, a male, and a female. The male had colors similar to Final Uru, and the sister had these colors. But I have, basically, dropped these characters. They were simply going to die off... but... meh. I may include them/one of them if I can get a decent plot for Mohatu's time as king... but really that part is very flat. I hate creating a character as death fodder unless they really affect the entire plot and alters particular characters heavily. I do find myself very fond of this color pattern... it's close to my Shani.
Gold Uru
This Uru was based on another version of Ahadi and Uru... a different pair that does not exist in my main story's timeline. I really like her. She just looks like she's always plotting something, be it trouble, or a fun surprise.
All my Uru's had something in common... no outlanderish nose. I don't know why... I really like the outlander nose. It would have had to been on a more gold Uru than a dark Uru had I included it. All but the most recent had the pelt colored paws like Mohatu.. and only the newest version got the underbelly colored paws. Ah yes... the evolution of my Uru. I may come up with more versions. I may not. I have no idea. My mind jumps all over the place with her design.
